Behind the scenes with Huge Galdones. (Galdones Photography)

Recently, I have had a couple of opportunities to follow around|work with the fantastic Huge Galdones, who is as brilliant at photography as he is making people smile. You may all know that I love food photography, and just food in general {It’s kind of my thing}, but Huge is one of the top Chicago food photographers, and also takes assignments in other countries. Picking his brain is fun, and shooting alongside him is an honor.

This is a post to show you what it’s like to be behind the scenes at a shoot without giving away serious Galdones Photography trade secrets. This is from a recent shoot at River Roast in Chicago! All photos of me by Huge, and all other photos by me. Enjoy!

Oysters and Champagne.

I photographed Nicole Regan of {Cedar and Rush} and Megan Jedlinski of {Stylish and Scatterbrained}  at GT Fish and Oyster. I had so much fun capturing their east coast themed hang out. They were sent clothes from Vineyard Vines, which both ladies wore so well! The oysters were fresh, and the beverages were bubbly, so overall, it was perfect! I even got to meet the award-winning lead Chef and Partner, Giuseppe Tentori, who has the most charming personality, and incredible wit. It was an honor working with all three of these professional charmers, and I hope you enjoy the photos!

Food Photography|Found Kitchen and Social House.

I love photographing the food at Found Kitchen and Social house. They have such a fantastic atmosphere, with their mix-matched furniture, that gives my photos a little extra punch. Found delivers a bohemian, well-traveled feel, and when the food comes, the dish is always a carefully thought out masterpiece of taste and color. Chef Nicole Pederson and owner Amy Morton are the perfect pair in offering a unique culinary experience. It is {of course} an honor to work with each of them every time I get to pop in! You should make a reservation tonight. IMG_8519 IMG_8516 IMG_8510 IMG_8501 IMG_8491 IMG_8488 IMG_8467 IMG_8466 IMG_8458 IMG_8457 IMG_8456 IMG_8451 IMG_8444 IMG_8443 IMG_8433 IMG_8429 IMG_8421 IMG_8419 IMG_8411 IMG_8405 IMG_8402 IMG_8400 IMG_8384 IMG_8377 IMG_8363 IMG_8358

Dinner for the Greater Chicago Food Depository at Found Kitchen

I photographed this wonderful private party for Found Kitchen and Social House. The object of the party, to celebrate the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Go check them out!

The Food Depository, founded in 1979, makes a daily impact across Cook County with a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile programs, children’s programs, older adult programs and innovative responses that address the root causes of hunger. Last year, the Food Depository distributed 66 million pounds of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 150,000 meals every day.
